​After 10 years in the corporate world (HBO, Price Waterhouse), I left to pursue independent, sustainable business ventures.  I opened North Carolina's first green retail store, bought land in Snow Camp to build a homestead where I built the first straw bale house and natural swimming pool in the state of North Carolina. My solar power system may have been one of the first 5 in the Triangle.  The homestead became an ongoing project in self-reliance—maintained and improved over decades. I learned, experimented, built or acquired everything I needed to live my best life on the land. I would now like to share what I’ve learned about creating a sustainable and resilient way of life with others .
